Dark Shadows: Bloodlust

This serial audio drama was released by Big Finish in January and February 2015.

Some describe it as the town at the edge of the world.

When Melody and Michael Devereux come to Collinsport on their honeymoon, they don’t know the secrets that are hidden behind closed doors. But those secrets will be unearthed when an innocent is viciously murdered.

Collinsport will be a town divided. One woman’s rise to power will lead to further death and destruction. Families will be ripped apart. Blood will be spilt.

And the dark forces that wait in the shadows will wait no more. For in Collinsport, death is never the end…

Dark Shadows: Bloodlust is a new series of 13 download episodes, released twice weekly in a nod to the soap opera origins of this classic series.

Available after the first 6 downloads is Volume 1, and at the end is Volume 2, two CD or Download sets bringing together all the episodes up to that point! Both volumes are also available in a single Bundle.

Dark Shadows: The Ghost Watcher

“Look into the light and try to deny what you see… I dare you.”

But when an enigmatic stranger arrives in town, searching for phantoms, Maggie finds herself plunged into a world of intrigue and danger. What is the Ghost Watcher’s secret, and what is the true cost of his gift to the people of Collinsport?

Written by Stuart Manning this is another good audiobook which follows on nicely from the events in Clothes of Sand.

Dark Shadows: Clothes of Sand

“The Sandman is coming… singing the children to sleep everywhere…”

When Maggie Evans is take to the Windcliff Institute, she begins her recovery from the ordeal she suffered at the hands of Barnabas Collins. As she undergoes hypnosis, disturbing memories of her childhood being to surface. Who was the imaginary friend who once watched over her, and what threat does he prose for Maggie’s future?

Written and directed by Stuart Manning, this is the first in a series of original audio books based on the 1960s tv series and predominantly featuring the original cast.

Although I prefer the full cast productions, these enhanced audio books provide a satisfying listening experience. I can recommend them to fans of the series and new listeners alike.

However, if you only know Dark Shadows from the recent film starring Johnny Depp you may be in for a surprise.
